1962: Birth of a Monster

The Incredible Hulk first burst onto the comic book scene in 1962, created by the legendary duo of Stan Lee and Jack Kirby. The character, initially named the Grey Hulk, was a complex and tragic figure: a brilliant scientist named Dr. Bruce Banner who transforms into a monstrous, green-skinned behemoth when enraged.

Lee and Kirby's characterization of the Hulk explored themes of isolation, fear, and the duality of human nature. The Hulk quickly became a fan favorite, appearing in his own solo title as well as in the pages of other Marvel Comics publications.

The television series was a critical and commercial success, running for five seasons and becoming one of the most popular superhero shows of all time. Ferrigno's iconic portrayal of the Hulk, with his massive physique and thunderous roars, remains one of the most memorable versions of the character.

1982: The Incredible Hulk Returns

Following the success of the television series, the Incredible Hulk returned to comics in 1982 in a new ongoing series. This series, written by Bill Mantlo and drawn by Sal Buscema, delved deeper into the character's psychology and explored his relationships with other Marvel characters.

The 1982 series also introduced a new female version of the Hulk, known as She-Hulk. Created by Steve Englehart and John Buscema, She-Hulk was a strong and independent character who quickly became a popular addition to the Marvel Universe.

1994: The Incredible Hulk Returns Again

In 1994, the Incredible Hulk was resurrected in a new comic book series written by Peter David. This series, known as "The Incredible Hulk: Future Imperfect," saw the Hulk transported to a dystopian future where he became a feared and revered figure.
